Purpose

The purpose of Defensive Insider is to take what we see in our game of football today and turn it into information that can help coaches continue to learn every chance they get. We are able to break down film, share X’s and O’s, and show how teams are giving different looks against the offense. The offensive game continues to change and develop, which causes many fits for the defense. We like looking at all teams/programs to see what they are doing.

What is our topic?

Our topic is looking into Notre Dame’s defense against Navy Week 1 in Ireland. We are going to break down how Notre Dame slowed the powering offensive attack on the Midshipmen. Navy finished with 12 first downs, 4-14 on 3rd down, and 169 total yards with 43 in the air and 126 on the ground on 48 carries. That is a 2.6 yards a rush. Tough to do against this offense.
